Days 0 to 2: order placed, nothing to see
The Korean store confirms the order, usually by an email or message in Korean. Nothing ships yet. Pre-orders will show nothing for weeks and that is correct behavior. If a store cancels for stock reasons, it typically happens in this window, and refunds take three to seven business days to appear on a card.
Days 2 to 6: domestic delivery inside Korea
The store dispatches to a Korean address and a domestic tracking number appears. Korean domestic delivery is fast, commonly one to two days. If a store has not dispatched by day five without a stock notice, that is the first point where asking is reasonable. Korean tracking pages are in Korean and the status codes do not translate cleanly, so the useful signal is simply whether the number has moved in the last 24 hours.
Days 5 to 10: arrival, inspection, waiting for you
The package arrives at the warehouse and is logged, usually with photos of the contents. At this point the system is waiting on you to decide whether to ship or hold for more items. Many first-timers assume this step is automatic and are surprised that a box sits until they request dispatch.
Days 10 to 18: international transit and delivery
Once dispatched, air transit is typically three to six days, plus customs processing and one to three days of US domestic delivery. Tracking often shows nothing for 48 hours after handover, which is normal and not a lost package. Total first-order time from payment to doorstep is realistically two to three weeks.
