The voltage question comes first
Korean home appliances are built for 220V. Larger purifiers draw 30-60W and humidifiers similar, so a 300W step-down transformer at $30-50 will run them, but you are then permanently tied to a transformer box on your floor. Check the input label before anything else; a few travel-oriented models are 100-240V.
Filter replacement is the hidden cost
An imported purifier needs Korean-spec replacement filters every 6-12 months, and those have to be shipped too. A filter set weighs 400 g to 1.5 kg and costs 30,000-80,000 KRW. Over three years the filter shipping alone can exceed the purifier price.
What actually makes sense to import
Small USB-powered desk humidifiers and portable air quality monitors, which run at 5V and sidestep the whole voltage problem. These cost 20,000-60,000 KRW and weigh under 500 g.
Warranty reality
Korean appliance warranties are domestic-only and service centers will not handle overseas units. Treat any imported appliance as unsupported, which is a reasonable trade for a small gadget and a poor one for a 300,000 KRW purifier.
