Korea has a substantial cycling culture with a competitive parts market and a strong secondhand scene on domestic platforms. Small parts import beautifully; anything frame-sized does not.
Small parts are the sweet spot
Derailleurs, cassettes, brake parts, pedals, saddles, bar tape and tools are dense, light and often 15-30% cheaper through Korean retailers than US pricing on the same brands. A parts order of a dozen items typically lands at 2-3 kg and ships as an ordinary parcel.
Frames and wheels are impractical
A boxed frame measures roughly 130 by 20 by 80 cm and attracts oversize handling on top of enormous volumetric weight. Wheels are similar. Unless you have found something genuinely unobtainable, buy these locally.
Electric bike components
E-bike batteries are large lithium packs and are effectively unshippable by consumer air freight. Motors and controllers without batteries are ordinary goods. Plan any e-bike project around sourcing the battery domestically.
Secondhand market
Korean cycling communities trade heavily on domestic secondhand apps, with prices well below US used pricing for comparable components. These sellers require Korean payment and domestic delivery, which is where a buy-for-me service earns its fee. Ask for close-up photos of wear surfaces before shipping.

Technically possible via freight, but the cost usually exceeds buying the same bike locally.
