What semi-cured actually means
The gel is polymerized about halfway at the factory, so the strip is tacky and moldable but not liquid. You need a UV or LED lamp to finish the cure, usually 60-90 seconds. Fully cured stickers that need no lamp are a different, less durable product, and Korean listings distinguish the two clearly.
Price gap with US retail
A Korean set of 20-32 strips typically runs 4,000-9,000 KRW, roughly $3-7. The same brands sell in the US at $9-16 per set. Ordering ten sets costs about 60,000-80,000 KRW and weighs under 300 g, which makes this one of the highest-margin categories to import for personal use.
Lamps and voltage
The mini lamps sold alongside the strips are usually USB-powered at 5V, which means no voltage problem at all. Avoid the larger salon lamps with a Korean wall plug unless you are prepared to run a step-down converter, since those are typically 220V units.
Sizing and fit
Korean strip sets include 12-16 widths in one sheet and assume relatively narrow nail beds. If your nails are wide, buy a set that advertises extra-wide sizes or expect to file down the sides. Some brands publish millimeter width charts on the product page.
