Korean intimates use a numeric system that looks familiar and behaves differently, and the cup letters do not mean what a US buyer assumes. Getting this wrong is expensive, since underwear is effectively non-returnable on any international order.
The band number
Korean bras list the band as underbust circumference in centimeters, typically 65, 70, 75, 80, 85. A 70 band corresponds to a US 32, 75 to a US 34, 80 to a US 36. Add roughly 2 inches to your underbust in inches and compare, or simply measure in centimeters and match directly. Korean bras also frequently use a combined label such as 75B rather than separate band and cup fields, which is the same information written differently.
The cup progression
Cup letters map to the difference between bust and underbust in centimeters: A is about 10 cm, B 12.5 cm, C 15 cm, D 17.5 cm. Korean cup sizing runs shallower than US equivalents at the same letter, so a Korean C often corresponds to a US B in volume. Sizing up one cup is the common correction. Padding is also more heavily built into Korean bras as standard, so a cup that measures correctly may still sit differently than an unpadded US equivalent.
Where the size range stops
Domestic Korean brands rarely stock above an 85 band or a D cup, and larger sizes are effectively unavailable outside specialist shops. If your size sits above that range, Korean domestic retail will not serve you regardless of how carefully you convert. Some Korean brands run an extended line reaching an E cup, though availability is inconsistent and stock in those sizes sells out and restocks slowly.
What is worth buying
Seamless everyday bras, bralettes and the lounge and sleepwear categories are where Korean brands are genuinely strong, typically 20,000-50,000 KRW. Structured underwire in larger sizes is where the market gaps are, so set expectations by category. Because the fit risk is high and returns are impossible, buying a single piece to test the brand before ordering several is the sensible sequence.
