A Korean product page carries a handful of short status labels that determine whether an order will actually be fulfilled. Confusing a preorder with in-stock, or a temporary sellout with a discontinuation, is the most common cause of an order that never ships.
The main states
In stock, temporarily out of stock, sold out, discontinued, preorder and made to order. The distinction that matters most is between temporarily out of stock, which implies a restock, and sold out or discontinued, which does not. The Korean phrasing differs between these and the translation often flattens them into the same English words.
Preorder and made-to-order timelines
Preorder pages state a shipping start date, usually one to four weeks out. Made-to-order items state a production lead time, commonly 5-15 business days. Both mean the clock on your international shipment does not start when you pay, which is worth building into any deadline.
Option-level availability
A product can be in stock overall while your specific size or color is not. Korean option dropdowns append a sold-out marker to individual options, and selecting one silently does nothing. If a size will not add to the cart, that option is unavailable rather than the page being broken.
Restock notifications
Most Korean stores offer a restock alert that emails or messages a Korean account when stock returns. Restocks are frequently announced only through that alert and sell out within hours, which is why watching a specific item usually requires someone with a Korean account subscribed to it.
