Korean activewear grew out of a hiking and gym culture that takes technical fabric seriously, and the domestic brands compete on lightweight, quick-dry construction rather than logos. Most of them do not sell internationally, and their sizing is noticeably tighter than US equivalents.
What the domestic brands do well
Lightweight compression tops, high-waist leggings with wide waistbands, and packable technical shells. Leggings run 40,000-90,000 KRW and technical shells 120,000-280,000 KRW. Fabric weights and stretch percentages are usually listed on the product page, which makes remote comparison easier than with US brands.
Sizing runs tight
Korean activewear is cut for a compression fit as standard. A Korean L in leggings often corresponds to a US M. Waistband stretch is generous but hip and thigh measurements are not, so compare the flat hip measurement rather than the size label.
Golf and hiking crossovers
A large share of Korean activewear is designed for golf or hiking rather than the gym, which shows up as collared tops, UV-blocking sleeves and pieces with a more structured cut. If you are shopping for gym wear, filter accordingly or you will end up with golf polos.
Weight and packing
Technical fabrics are light. A full set of leggings, top and shell weighs under 700 g and compresses well, making activewear one of the more shipping-efficient clothing categories. Ten pieces fit comfortably under 3 kg.

How do Korean leggings compare to US brands on price?
Domestic brands typically sit 25-40% below comparable US premium activewear for similar fabric specs.
Is UV-protective clothing labeled differently?
Korean listings state a UPF value directly, which is more consistently disclosed than on many US products.
Do these brands offer plus sizes?
The range is narrow. Most domestic activewear tops out around a US 10-12 equivalent, though a few brands have extended recently.
