Weverse gates a portion of its most desirable inventory behind paid fan club membership, and the check happens at the account level during checkout. That single detail causes most of the confusion around membership items, because the person whose membership counts is whoever is logged in, not whoever is paying.
What membership actually unlocks
Paid memberships, usually priced around 25,000-30,000 KRW annually per artist, unlock members-only merchandise, early access windows on general merchandise, ticket pre-sale eligibility and the physical welcome kit. The welcome kit alone is a collectible and is never sold separately. Membership periods also run on fixed annual cycles rather than rolling from your join date, which means joining late in a cycle buys you fewer months than you expect.
The account-level check
At checkout Weverse validates that the logged-in account holds an active membership for that artist. It does not check payment method ownership or shipping destination. This means a membership item can only be bought through an account that itself holds the membership. This is also why membership items cannot be added to a cart alongside general merchandise on some storefronts, since the eligibility check runs on a different path.
Region-locked membership storefronts
Membership benefits differ by storefront. A global membership may unlock global-shop items while leaving the Korean shop's membership items locked, and vice versa. Confirm which storefront a product URL points to before assuming your membership covers it. Shipping destinations differ too, with the Korean storefront restricting delivery to domestic addresses while the global one ships worldwide at higher item prices.
Quantity limits per membership
Membership items typically cap at one or two units per account. Ordering five of a members-only item is not possible regardless of budget, which is why these sell out instantly and resell at multiples on secondhand platforms. Secondary market prices on sold-out membership items commonly run two to four times retail, which is a direct consequence of that per-account cap.

Can I transfer my membership to a service account?
No. Memberships are non-transferable and tied to the account that purchased them.
What if I already have a membership?
Some services can place the order from your account with your permission, though sharing login credentials carries obvious risk and may breach the platform terms.
Do welcome kits ship internationally?
The global membership ships kits worldwide. Korean membership kits ship domestically only, which is a common reason to use a Korean address.
